So many people always say the same thing about GB2. “Shouldn’t everyone believe in ghosts now? Didn’t everyone see Mr. Stay Puft”
Let’s put aside the main point on why this isn’t a plot hole for a moment. Since when does something happening automatically mean people believe it?
There are people alive today, people who make YouTube videos and give passionate talks at conventions, these people believe THE EARTH IS FLAT. That is not a joke. It’s a growing movement, in 2025. That the earth is flat. Despite all the INSANE LEVELS OF EVIDENCE, these seemingly intelligent people, refuse to accept earth is a sphere.
Or look at all the people who still think the moon landings were a hoax. More people think that than ever before. Or that the holocaust didn’t occur.
Now taking all that into consideration, think about the movie and what it shows us. Ask yourself this, how many people actually say they don’t believe in ghosts in the movie?
There’s a crazy lunatic Judge. They call him the “hammer” .Then there’s young Jason Reitman’s dad. Jack Hardmeyer doesn’t believe.
So that’s, what? 3 people. 2 of which have ulterior motives.
So how did a few characters turn into “why doesn’t everyone believe in ghosts?” We are shown time and time again the GB’s are still beloved by the city.
Oh yeah? Well If u were me then I’d be u & id use ur body to get to the top! You can’t stop me no matter who you are! Lay who zay her. LOSER

I was into the cartoon and preferred it to the movie.

Most people believe in ghosts after the first movie but that doesn't mean they have to like them or accept them.
