Oops. Sorry, I guess I didn't understand. Did you mean I can add a discussion board on IMDB? Or I can add new films on here? What does "go to any imdb page that does not have a board" mean? Can you give step-by-step instructions?

the imdb database of film/tv/etc is so large and constantly changing, that it is impossible for us to manually add every missing entry, so that is where this add-on thing comes in.
if you have the add-on installed in your browser, all you have to do is visit any imdb entry that does not currently have a message board listed in the searchable database here, and it will add it automatically on this site and imdb. you won't even be able to tell it has done it, cuz that's how good it is. (there will be a notification letting you know at some point, but it's not there yet)
if you are logged in on your account at this site when you "add" one of these boards by visiting the appropriate imdb page, it will include a message letting the world know the board was created by you. it will look something like this:
if you want to get credit for recovering a board, an easy way to find some to be added is to click on the new releases at imdb. we keep a tally of how many each person adds and may display the top "adders" at some point, so add plenty. the prize is bragging rights. -

Finally got it to work. So that others have an easier time, I offer my version of your instructions:
Instructions:- Enter your filmboards profile page by clicking on your user name.
- Scroll down to Sync with IMDB account.
- Click the Get Key button to receive a key: a long alphanumeric string, which you will now…
- At IMDB, paste the key into the first line of Your Description on your IMDb profile page.
Your Description can be found by clicking your profile name in IMDB. Look for Quick Links, the 4th item.
Paste the filmboards key in AS the first line of Your Description, i.e., no other text can appear in that first line. - Back on filmboards, in the Enter URL field, paste the URL of your IMDb profile (Ex.
http://www.imdb.com/user/ur12345678/
), only up to the last "/". You don't need the " ?ref_=nb_usr_prof_0". [or do you, Nimda? Did it so many times with so many combos, now I can't recall]. - Click Sync Profile..
- After you see the message "[your IMDB and filmboard accounts] are synced", you can delete the key from your IMDb description.
- Reload this page to see if your IMDB posting history shows up.

OK, Nimda, this is weird: Successfully synced and added the browser extension (Chrome). On IMDB, my boards show up EXCEPT for on "Just An Old Sweet Song". Any idea why?

there was an issue with that title some reason, but it should work now. all other boards should display, i'm thinking.

Still bumping, after all these years.
Worked perfectly, following exactly these instructions, 9ish years later. I was also jazzed to revisit some old threads again.
As someone who is also an editor and tech writer - in addition to managing web content and membership tools - I just wish this site had better confirmation screens built into it. Didn't even get a confirmation screen when I created my account successfully. But I'm also happy to lend my skills in any way to helping keep this independent archive alive. It represents some of the most formative years of my 'online life.'
