that would be a violation of copyright law, which is the one crime i refuse to commit. remember, everything we are doing here is absolutely 100% within the rules of law. anyone who tried to sue us would be foolish to do so. cuz i have nothing. i'm poor. you'd only end up losing money.
maybe, and i say this only as a hypothetical, no promises, maybe i could do that with old movies where the copyright has expired. silent films can easily be found on youtube. so can citizen kane, which you can watch here (warning: the movie is black and white
I don't really like to watch films on Youtube unless it can't be found anywhere else. If anyone is interested in public domain stuff, archive.org has a whole bunch of stuff in good quality which you can stream or download. -

Me neither. But I think youtube sometimes gets very lucky. Because of the hd feature. So many times you can get rare great films/ videos in hd where you cant get anywhere else in that quality. In that regard. I like going to that site. Any other than that. I avoid it. I even hate the limits it has videos for most but allowed on others. Its pickky chosey.
I tried archive. Mostly old stuff. Not to be confused with archivefilms

. Im not so sure it is actually. Since so many site do it legally( I think). Im not saying to upload videos. Im saying to allow links. That way the responsible one would be the site it is uploading it not you. At the very least you can add as you say copywritten expired. Imdb has many videos but many of those videos I think they host. Which im not saying you should do. Since im not sure if that would add to your costs of the site. But you can add the copywritten legally ones, trailers, youtube ones, etc…
I thought about adding the votes but we have imdb for that. You can steal but probably dont want to the imdb voting system.
One of the main reasons Im not sure this all is a good idea is because this consumes too much time and Im not sure how many staffers you have and if it will be able to handle the huge amount of data and time consuming it goes with such a responsibility.

With the new and improved extension (not to mention much more vast archive), I find that I can finally go back to IMDb again. It's almost like the boards never left. Being able to link back to the imdb page from the board is a good idea since it would be more intuitive than it is now (instead of having to repeatedly click the back button). I also think changing the banner to imdbarchive and adding movie posters (and possibly news) would be nice bonuses. A search function would solve the problem of not being able to reference imdb user histories while at the same time offering something IMDb never did.
I'm convinced that a lot of MC posters don't want to leave because they have already accumulated a large number of posts and probably spent hours on Facebook touting it as the next best thing. In reality, if they spent only a few minutes on this site, they would realize this site trounces MC in just about every way. Hashed.io has potential but that site hasn't had any meaningful updates in awhile (probably due to lack of traffic) and the mobile version is still broken. So far this site is the clear leader in my opinion. -

Im actuallly considering going to moviechat. A lot of responses there. Id be going in reverse. I actually almost went there first. But the bad ass sync feature here won me over. They dont have that crap there. That makes that site inferior. I wouldnt want to lose my high volume of posts either. lol. Its dedication.
Now to check hashed.
Done. Interesting site. But not many posts. They steal the topics off as imdb also. But you cant click on the users and as you said. Not many new posts. The site is like dead. The left panel feature is a bit interesting though.
As long has this site has the sync feature. Its no.1 on my book.
