I feel like it's the only thing they can offer her as a way to end her suffering. They're not doing it to be mean, they're offering her it as a last resort as she's probably inconsolable.
But what I do have an issue with is them rats not getting the death penalty. I wish they would bring back the death penalty all over the world then men might think twice before raping women.
