Are we getting any oil shipped through the Strait of Hormuz?
If not then how can our gas prices be going up if we have enough oil here?

Not all oil is treated equally. The US, Venezuela, and the middle east all produce different quality of oil. US refineries were designed to run best on the mix we get from middle eastern countries. Plus oil is a global market. Even if we could get everything we needed locally, a shortage in Europe can still jack up the oil prices everywhere else. US companies wouldn't sell locally at a discount out of some kind of patriotic duty.

Here's another question. Why the **** does Iran HAVE that much oil in the first place? They don't run out of oil?

The US Petro Dollar will be defended at all costs. IMO, the best thing to do would be dig a canal around the straights and issue letters of Marque to keep the peace in that area.

Dude, I know the canal idea looks feasible when you look at a map, but it's not. May be possible as a 30 year project costing trillions… but not practical.
Easier and less costly to just make the bad guys behave.

And by "bad guys," I am sure you mean Turd Lump and MAGA since they are the bad guys here in starting a war that didn't have to be.
Yeah, voting them out is the easier and cheaper thing to do.
                Glad we agree on something.

It's not about "we". Wars aren't fought for us. They are fought by the wealthy to get richer and keep their grip on power secure.

This isn't even about oil. It's about taking out Israel's #1 strategic opponent, just like the Iraq war was. It's about creating one Greater Israel encompassing the entire Middle-East. We are nothing more than goycattle for the Jewish war machine.
