I saw a Bill Maher interview of John Mellencamp, and I think Mellencamp (alive) would be a fun guy to meet.
Samuel Jackson and Lawrence Taylor perhaps (both still alive). -

CNN shows his hourly program on Saturday nights. I agree with you about the guests and that's why I tune in, but I could do without his comedy shtick segment. Usually I don't watch that segment anymore. I can live with his monologue, but the 4th segment where he does his choreographed routine is time that could be spent with interesting guests. After his opening interview guest, he used to have a panel of three followed by one special guest near the end of the show. He cut it to two panel guests and no finishing guest, I suppose, so he could tell more jokes.
