It's mainly only morons who are in debt. Don't spend money if you don't have it and save money in case you will need it.

Nope! Having been poor, most of my childhood, I learned from my father to work for what you want, and always save for that rainy day and live within my means.
I married a man who was taught the same lessons.
The only time that we were ever in debt was back when we bought our house.
Lucky for us, we had saved up and had enough to put down most of the amount of money on the down payment. We were able to pay off the mortgage within three years.
My advice? Do your best to live within your means.
Do that, and you will always be able to save up for the things you want.
