I have to say ..and it's probably my age…but I think it's been dead for a bit now. For me it was the move away from sampling. Turning it into a billion dollar commodity seems to have stunted the soul of the music.
But…things change…glad the youth still enjoy what hip hop has evolved into

no…as stated i no longer care for what its evolved into…note that i used the possitive term evolved rather than a more negative one. i also stated that i am glad the genre still has a listening base. what i submitted was just friendly feedback that didnt exactly align with your opinion. this happens

The only time top 40 was any good was before the late 90's. The lack of rap doesn't make it better. Pop music atill sucks, with only a few exceptions here and there
The issue isn't the genre. Almost every genre has good artists. I'm just tired of the artists that get forced upon us. -
