I did it wrong. Probably because lack of baking skills. Too much batter, no oil.
Eventually the thing, for lack of a better term, was thoroughly cooked. It tasted like a pancake? I only ate half of it with syrup on top.
I'm going to try it again using a more appropriate sized dish.
