I don't personally like to get into conspiracy theories but the fact that an elderly Jewish man caused enough of a scene to allow time for the shooter to get away is setting off alarm bells.
If they don't find the shooter people will fill in the gaps with whatever prejudice they want.
This is very much a "who shot Mr Burns" situation.
