They are considered endangered, and the public is encouraged to keep their distance and respect their spaces. They were almost extinct up here, and they're only slowly making a comeback. Where I used to live, yes, we had mountain lions. I could see them from the living room window when they were walking through the forest grounds.
Yes, they would be considered dangerous because they are predators, as opposed to prey animals. I'm going to be extra cautious when I walk the dog. I don't think they would go out of their way to attack a human that's minding their own business, though. Have you seen any mountain lions yourself?

She was so beautiful. I stopped my car to watch her pass, and it really was like watching a nature documentary the way she moved. So graceful. And those black tufts of hair pointing upwards on the tips of her ears! I'm still in such awe.

Definitely! I've never seen one while I was driving before! I was totally not prepared to see such a beautiful animal. We get the deer and the odd moose, but this left me speechless!
