A Kneecap member is off the hook after a video caught him rallying cries of "the only good Tory is a dead Tory" at a London show last year.
The Metropolitan Police has closed up their probe into Kneecap's Mo Chara, whose real name is Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, saying any possible offences are too stale for legal action.
During his November 2023 tirade, Mo Chara didn't hold back, urging the audience to "kill your local MP" and spewing heated slurs against Tories. The clip hit the internet in April, leading Scotland Yard's Counter Terrorism Command to scrutinize the footage.
On Sunday, the Met conceded: "A range of offences were considered as part of the investigation. However, given the time elapsed between the events in the video and the video being brought to police attention, any potential summary only offences were beyond the statutory time limit for prosecution."
