They twist minds like yours because there is a nugget of truth in what they teach you. Yes, what you eat matters. Then they give you some emotional arguments before selling you on some solution that hurts you and profits them.
Problem, reaction, solution. This is how they brainwash you. You don't have enough direct experience in the real world and you don't know enough history from primary sources to know what's actually important and what isn't. You just connect the dots whatever way you're told.
