my choice to live here was employment, and my immediate family lived here/lives here. i should have left a LONG time ago permanently for Vegas or Europe when i was living there on work visa status.
yes, the hurricane. i was visiting a friend on the gulf side when the hurricane formed down off cuba and decided to head up the coast. we went with the cat and the dog to a La Quinta. (bad for them==>>) "luckily", the storm complex shifted it's track more eastward and slammed into Fort Myers and pretty well demolished the entire coastal environs.
i would leave florida yesterday if i could.
