Sounds like they gave it a touch higher than I would have Bobby. I'd have gone for a low 6 if it hadn't been for how the BBC and Disney have marketed it. But it's a firm 4 because of that
What did you think of The Doctor killing a man and then laughing about him being thrown away even though he could have been saved? I mean the episode over all?
I thought it was right up there with that wire scene in Genesis of the Daleks personally
I don’t know anything about the marketing because I’ve avoided all of that and any talk about it (other than the aforementioned review). That sort of thing doesn’t interest Bobby.
    I even avoided trailers.
Do you mean the bit at the end where that man gets turned into a sperm and then crushed and the Doctor laughed and did a high kick?
If not then I’m not sure which bit you mean. I was half asleep when I watched the episode just yesterday. 🙂

      YES QWEEN!
When the Doctor laughed about a man who was mentally retarded/on the spectrum being killed off by being devolved into a human sperm and egg and then swept away by a Roomba that says what it is doing whilst doing it I thought Shooty was up there with Tom Baker's finest moment
It was either Alan or the Daleks purpose to existence in that moment
Very touching, I felt as if 60 years of storytelling had culminated into a perfect moment which can never be repeated.
Yeah, the marketing isn't any different from last year. They are actively saying don't watch it because it has a gay black man in it. Odd marketing but perhaps that's the unusualness of Disney for you!
      Weird, weird…weird

I didn’t like that either. The problem is that it comes very soon after Adolescence, which is a show that deals with toxic masculinity in a much more sensitive way. These vulnerable young men need to be helped, not demonised. Then he did that stupid silly kick and said ‘yes qween’ all flippant like.

          Alan wasn't young Bobby
          Well, the actor that is.
Doctor Nurse 2.0 is an attractive woman and could play 17 and 34 quite easily. That chap that played Alan always looked mid-30's (Even with the comb forward) and the fact that in his biggest scene he's all made up in Superman III tinfoil didn't mean they needed a 35 year old to play him at all
I think he was chosen for his physicalities. Which is perfectly OK in my book, as long as you can mention how slightly tubby Jewish English-Dalit failed Doctor-turned-nurse types make for terrible housewives and that's why they hang around with insecure gay black guys in public booths both hoping to turn tricks (You can't
          ).
So yeah, the OCD guy that had a fear of static electricity killing his girlfriend was a prick, but not because he was an involuntary celibate. Unless a man is in the act of actually having sex, he is an involuntary celibate and King, Gandhi and Mandela occasionally had moments in between having sex where they said and did stuff
I hope it's cause he's white. Because that would be be see class!
Gay white guy uses gay black guy in geek/nerf family show to attack man who said "No thanks" to him years ago and, quite purposefully, starts a turf war
Oh, did I mention that Shooty is both gay
          AND
          black Bobby?

I didn’t really follow 95% of that so I’ll just cover the Alan age stuff. Alan was captured by the aliens of that funny little planet ten years before and was no doubt brainwashed way before that by the incel group. We first meet Alan as a teenager where we see that he is using coercive control with Belinda. However what should have happened back then was Alan’s parents should have spoken to him more, reassured him. Instead they just left him to it on that computer and his dad looked away at football practice when he was doing badly and letting goals in.
Remember when he used to draw? He would just sit at that table drawing pictures! And he was good too wasn’t he! 🙂

No Alan read in some women's magazine that woman can spontaneously combust (Like that famous picture of a nylon'd leg from the 1910's shows) and so presumed that walking in tight clothes all day and texting after 8 PM would be more likely to set his girlfriend aflame and into an early death.
She was already a rubbish medical student and so he tried to tell her as directly as he could. Bless him

This is the great thing about Doctor Who. They create such wonderful layered characters such as Alan and here we are discussing him still four days later (but only one day for me). 🙂
What do you think of Mrs Flood? I wish she’d just bugger off now.

Well Mrs Flud is the neighbour of Chandri now and so she's up to something or other Bobby
And she's still talking to the camera and so she might be trying to muscle in on our game

It's all part of the whole bringing Who back to its roots things that RTD is going for to up the value of it for Disney to buy.
Unlike Colegate original though, it's not working

I haven’t watched any of Tharries’s videos for yonks but he used to have a new one up every week about how Disney was going to sack it off.

I don't know if, how or why Disney can own something which belongs to the British people Bobby but the Beeb has been backstabbing license payers since its inception. I don't see why they wouldn't sell off yesterday's successes for todays fashionable labels

I watched the Capaldi episode of Black Mirror last night and loved it. Loved the partial setting of 1994 and also…..spoilers for these who enjoy reading along with mine and Siggy’s threads but haven’t seen the eppy yet…
My favourite ever Black Mirror character Colin Ritman from Bandersnatch was in it! 😊 I was hoping that he would be as it was about computer games and set only 10 years after Bandersnatch…and he was! 😊
