That's the stuff I dislike! The HFCS is the worst. You can taste a difference between that and cane sugar. I'm not sure what happened, but when we started swapping out cane sugar for HFCS, foods started tasting sickly sweet.

One of my cousins went to Tulane. Have some other relatives who went to LSU, SLU (in my town). I know one cousin I haven't seen in ages went somewhere close to or in San Francisco. She hateed my sexually abusive brother, so she was rarely at family gatherings. Good for her. Wish we separated from the rest sooner.

Krispy Kreme is soooooooo sweeeeeeEEEEEEEEEt. I remember the first time I tasted one when someone brought in a dozen for our department. I bit into one, and had to spit it out. My mouth and taste buds rebelled.

There used to be a place nearby that made the old fashioned donuts. They were around since before I was born. I’d get two plain ones, still warm. They cooked them in lard. Nice crispy outside, and moist and tender inside. The bag they put them in would have grease stains from the donuts. Not healthy, but they were delicious.
