A couple of interesting points. "Man on the street" interviews have both good and bad points. They can have an agenda and single out those replies that just so happen to agree with whatever narrative they want to push, so that's always a possibility. On the other hand, by being independent, they also have the freedom of not being tethered or obligated to report one particular slant to their overlords who are also pushing their narrative and agenda.
It can really be a mixed bag, but I think that there's a lot of government corruption, and we've seen a lot of it play out just over this past election cycle. Things like that are why I do not necessarily agree with the propaganda that's being pushed to try and justify or offer half-assed explanations as to what they're trying to do (when in fact, that is nothing more than an idealized version to try and mask their actions). It ends up coming out when independent reviews are done.

If you're coming here to work, you come into a legal port of entry, you do not just cross a river or jump a fence and enter illegally.
American citizens deserve these benefits first and foremost. Illegals are breaking the law simply by being here. Compassion my ass.

I agree with you on this point, but it's also common sense that if you want to become a citizen, you don't sneak in via illegal means. They don't need an education to know that sneaking in under wire fences or climbing over fences is probably not the legal port of entry, right?
We absolutely need to make sure our ports of entry are clear, streamlined, but also thorough so that people have their background checked, and those with clean backgrounds can be allowed into America as well as given the help they need when it comes to set up court dates.
That being said, I still believe in civics and assimilation. I would expect to do the same if I were to move to another country. It would be my responsibility to learn their way of life and not expect them to give me free handouts or change everything to accommodate me.
I'm hoping that once we get a better grip on deporting the illegals as best we can (starting with the offending criminals who are raping, killing, robbing, etc.) because we need priorities, that we can provide both safer and quicker entries for legitimate immigrants. Plenty of us are immigrants, and we came here the right way. What's been happening over the past 4 years is a slap in the face to our families who obeyed the laws to come here. This will free up funds to take care of people willing to enter legally.
