It's true, for a lot of things. We don't have to pay a bill if we call an Ambulance. In the USA you have to pay for the ambulance even if it's an emergency. It's like a thousand dollar bill. That's just the ambulance.
You're also paying for every doctor visit, every single checkup, absolutely everything. In a Universal Healthcare system, we pay for drugs, yes, but not for the freaking Ambulance and for simply going to your family doctor.
You have to pay for all that. Out of your own pocket. Even in the case of an emergency. We don't have to pay for the damn ambulance when we're sick. Yes, we pay for drugs, I was exaggerating when I said it's all free. But a lot of it is free.
For example: AMBULANCE calls. Charging people for that is just a cheap scam, nothing more. That's like charging someone for a 911 call to the police about a murder.
Or charging someone 5 dollars to use a public toilet.
Cheap scams is how the American government works.
