In retrospect it looks like much of the steps taken to combat covid were unnecessary and harmful. Suicides went up due to social isolation, car accidents went up due to people getting rusty at driving, millions of jobs were lost, many businesses went under, many elderly people were left to die in nursing homes particularly at the start of the pandemic, children have fallen behind in school, the economy crashed worldwide, inflation went out of control. All of this over what turned out to be a virus that wasn't as deadly as feared. Most young and healthy people were not at risk of dying and we could have kept the economy and society going. Sweden did and they ended up having less deaths per capita than the United States.

There is no denying it is a highly contagious and deadly sickness.
Perhaps we could have followed Sweden's model for whatever it was they did to control it, which you failed to mention, or is there a balance in there of somehow keeping things open and running while keeping the infected down.
I dunno.
Is there?
What we had was an arrogant, inexperienced moron for a first time politician for president who had no clue on how to handle it and he let it get out of control and as bad as it got with his cult of deniers.
Perhaps we would have done better with Hillary in that crises.

I'm not a Trump fan by any means but with regards to covid his instincts did prove correct in many respects. He wanted to open up society a lot sooner than almost anyone else, and given the negative impacts of the quarantine I mentioned above, and how a country like Sweden avoided these consequences by not locking down, it probably would have been the right move.

Here are the ways Trump ****ed this up that I believe led to the high numbers of deaths.
- Bringing back medical experts that had shoes on the ground at ground zero in Chy-na.
- Disbanding the pandemic response team that Obama put in place because he is a racist against Obama.
- Downplaying the test numbers and saying he was going to have testing sites opened up in parking lots of big box stores across the country which did not happen.
- Keeping the boarders wide open.
They say he stopped travel from Chy-na but thousands or hundreds of thousands of Chinese got in after that supposedly happened. - There was a rumor that he kept blue states from getting ventilators.
- Suggested we ingest bleach and shine a light where the sun doesn't shine to combat it.
His Cult members give him credit for starting the ball rolling on getting vaccines but these are the same morons who refused to get it and this is of course anything any president would have done.
I have never voted Repub. and would consider voting for him since he is the least war monger between him and Harris but his **** up with this is one reason why I can't.

This is a lost cause in arguing this. Democrats hold Republicans to an impossible standard. Trump wasn't God therefore it is all his fault Covid spread. They did the same thing to Bush for not stopping a hurricane. No Democrat would have done any better, in fact Trump took it seriously far sooner than any Democrat did and they all called him racist for it because he wanted stop travel from some foreign countries. We would have had the same exact results had a Democrat been president and they would have been celebrated for their leadership during Covid. We know this is true because of how they were praising Cuomo, who handled the response in his state worse than anyone on the planet. Thing is if a Democrat were in charge the stats wouldn't have been manipulated like they were and the media wouldn't have been smearing them with lies throughout it all.
Now I personally believe Trump failed the response for a different reason, because he put Fauci in charge and went along with all of his bullshit suggestions and recommendations, like those useless dumbfuck masks and economy crushing lockdowns, most of which Fauci admitted had no clue if they did anything and wasn't based on any science, just some nonsense he pushed out of nowhere, especially social distancing. Trump failed by supporting that ****, Democrats loved all that useless garbage and still cry about Trump's response. It's a ****ing joke.

^ This. In my State Gov. Cuomo's policies led to the death of 16,000 Senior Citizens. And then he tried to cover up all of the deaths. He should be tried for Mass Murder.
And yet Democrats universally praised him for being an example of leadership during the Pandemic. Democrats are insane and evil.
And Warren Peace is a Child. Or at the very least has the thought process of a 6 year mildly retarded Child.

The people were duped on such a massive scale with Covid, and it was so obvious to begin with that what we were doing was absolutely ridiculous and baseless, but the vast majority of people would rather continue to go along with it than admit they were duped.

It's easy to be clever in hindsight and I think we did the best we could with the information we had at the time. No one can say for sure if it was effective or if it was worth it because we didn't have a test scenario where we didn't do those things, to compare it with. Covid will be with us forever now in its many, varied, and ever evolving incarnations. I wonder when the next 'accident' in one of those labs will kill us all.

The MPox (former Monkey Pox) are just making headlines.
The propaganda and panic machine is in full swing.
Pharma looks forward to the next good sales.
Btw. some
'people'
knew more about Covid and much earlier than others.

There's more to the
Covid story
but I'm somewhat tired of the topic.
However, panicmonger
