His game primarily relied on the threat of his run game. It kept defenses guessing which allowed him to excel in his first few seasons. Then teams figured out how to stop his run which forced him to focus more on passing, but he just wasn't a great passer. He had a powerful arm but he was never consistent.

The Super Bowl appearance was early in his career. He was never the same player after that. He got benched for a reason, which came before the controversy around kneeling during the national anthem. He just wasn't working out anymore.
