I could give a description of it, but a photo. They didn't exist back then for a tool
Maybe nowadays with Insta and what you've had for lunch or whatever but no, people didn't take photos of things they've be using as tools

Just Google Images for the make/model/year/color…… that's what I did for my pic of the '73 Vega (IOW that's my car exactly, but not actually "my car," if you follow me).

                Sure thing:
                Something like this then
But what I wanted was something like this
                I've grown up now though.

Both look very economical. I'd like the second one too… doubt I'd fit in it, though.

You have no idea about the amount of work I had to do on that first car
Got me into figuring out all sorts though and gave me the saving grace of not touching anything with a computer involved in it for these days.
Never did get the second car, and likely won't now. But have all the knowledge on how to make it from scratch should I ever get that feeling again

What the brand of that first car? Aldi's? I never knew they had a car line.

I don't think Aldi was even a company then
                        That was a Metro
And every single tiny component of it needed to be either fixed or replaced.
And it didn't last a week after it was operational due to it being taken to its absolute limits.

Yes… I seem to recall it was. I remember seeing other green Vegas on the road all the time back then.
It was an okay car, but the engine block was cast aluminum, which meant that it took 15 or so minutes for the engine to warm up. You'd get these weird engine stumbles and misfires for about 20 minutes before it started running smoothly. Annoying and frustrating as hell!

                                        Haven't they, though?
I even used to work on my cars back then… did my own LOF's (lube-oil-filter changes) etc. My more recent cars are just too technical for me to work on anymore. Plus, the engine compartments are much more tightly packed. You can't easily move around in them anymore, lol.
