Adidas was RENAMED after the brother of the founder left the company.
From Wikipedia:
Both Dassler brothers joined the Nazi Party (NSDAP) in May 1933 and became members of the National Socialist Motor Corps.
The Dassler factory, used for the production of anti-tank weapons during World War II, was nearly destroyed in 1945 by US forces. It was spared when Adolf Dassler's wife convinced the American soldiers that the company and its employees were only interested in manufacturing sports shoes. American occupying forces subsequently became major buyers of the Dassler brothers' shoes.[17]

Most recent trip to Europe I think everyone was in adidas trainers
I still like the classic white with 3 jagged stripes, but so expensive, even on resale markets. Quality gotta do quality
Is it real that the corporate name Adidas is a fusion of the founder name Adi Dasler? -

Yah, Adidas stands for quality, and strangely enough, despite the crazy tariffs, most of their sales were apparently made in the USA. I need to take a closer look at the numbers though.
And Yah, the company name is an anagram of the founders' names.
