One of my first posts on the boards covered why health care is not a right.
Even Jesus has said no when asked to heal. God loved the apostle Paul. Yet God sovereignly orchestrated his painful thorn in the flesh and then declined to remove it.

2 primary reasons. First suffering and persecution tend to bring people closer to God. Second, pain in this life is irrelevant except to the extent that it sets you up for the afterlife.
