Ross Ulbricht created the "Silk Road" which was a website on the dark web that was used mainly to sell drugs. He was sentenced to 2 life terms for it which was seen by many as excessive, spawning a movement to free him, especially among libertarians. At the Libertarian Convention over the weekend, to fend off an unreceptive audience, Trump promised to commute Ulbricht's sentence day one if he is re-elected president, which was met with wild applause.
Prior to this, Biden and the Democrats would never have considered commuting the sentence, despite being a party more open to relaxing drug laws, because they fear the "soft on crime" label that Republicans often use against them. Now that fear is removed. If the head of the Republican party is for it then there is no more downside to commuting the sentence. There is only an upside. Commuting it will both help him with young voters and will also remove one of Trump's main points of appeal to the libertarian wing of the Republican party. It's a slam dunk.
Biden will commute Ross Ulbricht's sentence. Most likely in late October. -

In a close election, which every recent presidential election we've had is, every vote matters. That's why Trump went to the Libertarian convention in the first place. Getting even a small portion of libertarian votes could be the difference between winning and losing.

Gotta do Snowden and Assange next. Trump's dumbass should have done it while he was in office.

I agree with you on this.
Did you happen to see the movie Snowden?
It is a real eye opener as to what they do and he was right for letting us know.

Oh yeah, saw it. Great movie, not sure how accurate it is, but I tend to have more faith in his word than our government.

It's just it seems really weird to blindly trust one person, especially one who was low level and didn't have any real understanding of the information he was leaking and who ran off to seek shelter in a country with a much more oppressive government.

Didn't say I blindly trust him, just that I trust him more than the government. I understand why that's controversial for you, the government got you to inject yourself with like 8 Covid vaccines just by saying "Do it." So you have a very unquestioning love and trust of the government, you and I differ in that aspect.

And as you pointed out there, I did not say I blindly trust him, very good. And for even more context, here's exactly what I said: "I tend to have more faith in his word than our government."
You're a dishonest idiot.

When did I say I was vaccinated? If you are unable to trust the government, which is an entity that can be held accountable by the public, then you should have even less trust for a single person who you have zero power over.
