I agree. The city puts so much chlorine in ours, you can smell it as it's coming out of the tap.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Yuk, that must taste like swimming pool water!
We used to be able to buy water with added calcium which was so weird, it was like drinking milk but without the milk flavour.

Wow! Kind of like skim milk?
We use to have one of those filters you can attach to your faucet. Then we bought a refrigerator with the ice/water dispenser in the door. That also has a filter we can change regularly. I really do like the ice without always filling the ice trays. Very convenient.

I have one of those. I have a Brita filter attached to the kitchen faucet and I'll used filtered water to put in the tea kettle, for cooking, and to give my dog.

At the dog park, there's a hose that's connected to the city water that we use to fill the bowls. He'll wet his tongue when he's thirsty, but won't really drink it. I keep a gallon of filtered water in the car so when we get done, I give him a little bowl to drink and he drinks it up!
Even in the house, if I forget about the filtered water and just fill his water bowl with tap water, same thing, he won't drink it. Fussy bugger!

It's discerning not fussy!
The cats love to lick water droplets from grass, maybe it's extra sweet or something lol
I've tried giving them bottled water and Cat Milk too but outside water is their water of choice.

You are so right! They have discerning tastes.
You make a good point about the water droplets on the grass. I'm willing to bet it tastes very fresh, untainted by dirt or rocks.
If I could get my dog near a stream, I wonder if he would prefer that as well.
