Slavery - the argument isn't accountability, as a whole, as a concept throughout human history; the argument is about slavery as it and its legacy have historically disadvantage a group along racial lines in our presently founded nation
Israel / Palestine - no one thinks that
The patriarchy - I have never heard a feminist make the argument power only began to consolidate with men in the 20th century
Colonialism - akin to slavery. Present powers. Rome was in political upheaval before it fell. Something being normal within the course of human civilization, much of which we now think of as barbaric, doesn't mean we should resign to accept in our own society, as we living experience it, move forward. Criticisms of colonialism tend to be linked "globalism", interventionism, development through Western business (what ism is that), whathaveyou… it's discussed because it shows an ongoing pattern of present, extant societies -

That's not what was said.
Nobody disputes the legacy of slavery. We had Affirmative Action and Welfare to address that, and seem to constantly look at ways to further redress the balance. My point was the hate whitey gets for committing a crime every race committed harder and for longer, with some (Muslims and Chinese) still doing so. We're the only race trying to make amends, even if we haven't fully succeeded.
What more do people want?

Nobody thinks what, exactly? I'll assume you mean Israel's right to exist. What do you think is behind "from the river to the sea?" Hamas exist because people want to eradicate Jews. The Qu'ran calls for the eradication of Jews. Jews are unwelcome in the Islamic world.
Have you seen what's happening in the west right now? People are calling for another holocaust.

How should people counter the empire building of their enemies? How should the west have responded to the Soviet Union? How should the west respond to China? How should England have responded to French conquest? How should native Americans have responded to European expansion?
