Are those ancestry tests worth it?

not necessarily because there could be a surprise? in the US it’s worth it because we usually have 3 top ethnicities with scattered minor ones. it depends how long the ancestors where here. i’m only second generation so i don’t have a majorly mixed bag.

This is why I decided not to do it. I think you're put into a "family tree" thing for all to see so people who find out they're related to you will know your name and could try to contact you. No thank you lol.

Yep that's another reason. Then they'll get all into your business and start asking for money. I'm already dealing with that now.
Having your DNA out there might even have solicitors asking for organ donations.

Maybe. But remember, you’ll be in a database, so if you, or anyone else in your family ever commits a crime, they’ll have you on file. Not that I’m trying to suggest that you’d ever do such a thing. But let’s say you snap one day, and kill the mother of the kid that’s bullying your son. Again, not suggesting that you’d ever do such a thing. Just something to consider…
