Wealthy corporations would have no more hand-outs and their business models would cease to be profitable (most of the big ones - oil, etc… - are only profitable because of government subsidy, "ironically") and the economy, and thus society as we know it, would collapse

All government employees would stop getting paid since the budget is predicated on certain expectations about tax revenue being made true. With no revenue, police for example wouldn’t be compensated. This would rapidly lead to a breakdown of society after which I will need to take control.
