…condition?

Trying to get back on benefits is a much bigger deal and much more difficult process than however she got them initially. I'm gathering her parents advocated for her and brought her to mental healthcare providers to assign her a diagnosis of sufficient severity that would warrant her getting benefits, especially if she tells them she's "all better" and doesn't need her pills, etc.
With proper health care, she can still work part-time. With no healthcare, and no provider validating that she's disabled, you're right, absolutely, it's not a matter of if, but rather when, this happens.
I think she anticipates getting all this "free money" forever, and wants even more, and is putting all her eggs into that Camp Lejeune pipe dream. How she can not have a case worker is beyond me.

She gets Ohio Medicaid, so she should have an automatically assigned case manager who checks up on her periodically. Who knows what's really going on with Christina? There are a lot of things not adding up here.

There would need to be a physician to sign off on her disability. The government in and of itself are not comprised of medical doctors and social workers, which is why to get on disability, they require medical doctors to provide a diagnosis and to routinely update the condition, if it's the same, better, or getting worse. Every few years, her condition needs to be reevaluated.
That's why whatever's going on seems rather confusing. I'm gathering she's had her parents filling out her paperwork for her. Now that she's on her own for the first time, we'll see how she handles it.

Yes. This whole situation is confusing and complicated, especially given that she skips her doctors appointments. I really don't know how this all works in her situation.

I know we've had this default discussion seventy-something times already, and always manage to pull through. Of course, never be impacting those in the government, just everyone else. Perhaps it's just being pushed in the media because, you know,…votes.
