There's a technique to it. After you get down and you're sitting like an "Indian", then try to turn one of your knees around so you get into "take a knee" / "Colin Kapernick" position and you'll be able to get up from there with ease.

that's exactly my thought. Using a knee costs you one point. the goal is 8 or higher. Why take a risk when you can have stability? That's the hidden longevity in the test…are you sane enough to not hurt yourself needlessly?

And then to go from the standing position to sitting on your bottom crossed legged would take a lot of control, otherwise you'd just plop down right on your ass
