— 3 years ago(March 16, 2023 05:21 AM)Well, just look at the boxed set!
I read
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
twice and
Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
.
I may have read
James and the Giant Peach
once or twice and also did it in school.
We did
Matilda
, and I've seen the movie more than once, interesting.
It stands alone as a good winner.
I was gonna get the boxed set for $40-$50 next month but may just get the books one by one so I can start tomorrow, $6+ but $10+ to get overnight.
I ranked it by year in a blog post.
Roald Dahl – List – Boxed Set in Order of Year
1961 James and the Giant Peach
1964 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
1966 The Magic Finger
1972 Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
1975 Danny the Champion of the World
1980 The Twits
1981 George’s Marvellous Medicine
1982 The BFG
1983 The Witches
1984 Boy Tales of Childhood
1985 The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me
1986 Going Solo
1988 Matilda
1989 Fantastic Mr. Fox
1990 Esio Trot
1991 Billy and the Minpins
I got
A Series of Unfortunate Events
before it became a movie, at a book fair of my brother's school. I went beyond a little. It's just great.
So, I know the Charlie books were gifted and had gifted art that went with it, kinda like Tim Burton and Danny Elfman. Tim Burton produced
James and the Giant Peach
. It must have been a big part of his life, but I wonder if he ever considered doing bigger things.

I majored in Music Education and could direct children singing in something like this.
