Name your champion. I have to go with USA because of our very high IQ players. Several of them play chess and have degrees in mathematics, quantum physics. All more relevant to the football faith than you may know.
Secondly I support North Korea. Their passion is driven by the knowledge that, should they fail now, they will face a barrage of bullets at the firing squad. Such motivation captures the essence of the human experience, the human drama. Very exciting.
I also loved Germany but the Japs took em out. How sad to see these two former axis friends have a falling out. Hitler would be irate!

I’ve never once seen a game.
In the USA, nobody watches football. We call it soccer and football refers to a completely different sport, which you probably know. I think this is probably because of our history of fighting the UK. We changed how we write words in trite little random acts of defiance. And we developed our own “national sport” to obsess over.
So, it’s nothing like the excitement you get to have when your team does well. That was probably awesome to see

The US players look like grunts to me. Good at running and kicking people, little else.
The four favs are Brazil, Argentina, France and Spain - which seems about right.
As a football purist, I either want the Argies to win just because Messi is a footballing God, or Spain because their midfield is just perfection. Gavi and Pedri are an education in football.
Gavi only recently turned 18 and is already one of the best players in the world

Traditionally 34/35 was the end and you retired, or maybe went down to the lower divisions, or off to America/ the Middle East in a weak league for a retirement package if you were high level
But now we've got Dani Alves at 39 taking Brazil's free kicks, Messi at 35 still easily the best player in the world and Ronaldo at 37 getting this contract
