guns now used in these shootings are much more deadly
HOW!
How you simple motherfucker? How!?! The bullets are the same now are they were in the 1970's. You are claiming that the exact same product that was manufactured before 2004 is somehow less dangerous than the exact same one one manufactured after. Are there degrees of dead that I am not aware of? What if it was manufactured before the ban? Did it magically become killier after 2004? What sorcerer cast that spell? Was Voldemort involved? And now that they are somehow magically more deadly is it all the time or are they just more dangerous on school days? What if it is a government holiday are they still more dangerous then? Tell me how!
you have made the claim that guns can't be the problem because guns have been around forever and mass shootings only began recently
No retard.
Read it again.
why weren't there
as many
mass shootings 50 or 60 years ago?
You'd have caught it at the beginning if you had only pulled your head out of your ass and paid attention.

You actually went back and edited the titles of your replies to try to hide what you were really saying? Hahahaha! That means even you know you are wrong. Thanks for handing me the win.

I'll explain this to you one last time and if you're too stupid to get it after this then you're on your own. After the assault rifle ban ended in 2004 the market was flooded with assault rifles and the amount of shootings using them skyrocketed, resulting in much more deadly shootings. The casualty rate in past shootings was lower because the guns they used weren't as deadly. The casualty rate today is much higher because the guns used are now much more deadly. That's just a fact.
A 2019 study out of New York University’s School of Medicine found that mass shooting deaths involving assault weapons fell slightly in the decade of the federal assault weapon ban, and then rose dramatically in the decade that followed.
While other researchers said the decline during the ban was too small to draw firm conclusions about the ban’s impact, there is no debate that the pace and deadliness of mass shootings rose after the ban ended. Beyond assault weapons, more recent work points to the threat posed by large-capacity magazines, which the 1994 law also restricted.

This loser STILL thinks rifle that is firing the SAME bullet will somehow kill you deader because you added a pistol grip or a flashlight. And to think he goes around calling OTHER PEOPLE retards.

His answer was weird, but yours is kind of weird too.
Added upgrades like a pistol grip and flashlight won't make the bullet "kill you deader" but it makes the gun easier to use and draws more people into buying them thus more mass shootings.

That is not what /. is trying to argue. He is attempting to argue that advances in technology have somehow made the guns deadlier. This despite the fact that the bullets are exactly the same and all other changes are either cosmetic or ergonomic. It is stupid magical thinking.

Yup.
Plus they are making them more and more deadly by having them hold and fire more rounds and easier to reload which makes them more exciting to shoot.
If we went back to six shooters where they had to load one bullet into each chamber one at a time, not only would it lessen the targets for the shooter and make it easier to subdue or stop him but there just ain't as much appeal with less fire power for the gun nuts.
