            I sleep with fans on, even in winter.
            The noise helps, and I prefer that to radio/TV.

              Me too (can't sleep with TV noise on AT ALL) but it's because of so many inconsiderate people around. Like it's night right now, and I had people talking outside my room. UGH!
              Otherwise I agree with OP dark and quiet, except since the ghosts (and other things) decided to come visit where I live
              It's like "I like you guys but chill the **** out: I was sleeping here!" So dark is out of the question although this new pad has 0 ghosts & stuff, so far so good!

                I think I got ghosts, too. A cup fell from a cabinet overnight, had windows shut. Also, rinsed my tea cup, and it looked like soap suds came up, but haven't washed it in weeks.

                        I had no idea there was such a thing but you've described things I go through pretty well. Especially when traveling, as I have. The night before leaving, 3 hrs sleep tops!
                        I'm always worried if I'm gonna have things packed on time and etc.
