I think the concept of transitioning is stupid beyond the disagreements with trangenderism.
It involves paying loads of money to transform themselves into a less attractive version of the opposite sex, when they will never be biologically perfect version of that sex.
Men have it worse; they have masculine faces which cannot fully turn feminine. Women have it a bit better; they become pretty boys.
In movies, you'll notice pretty actors/actresses can play less attractive or older characters: Colin Ferrel as Penguin, Christian Bale in Dick, Vicki Lawrence as Mama, Mia Goth in X, Charleze Theron in Monster, and so on.
But you never see an actor play a character more attractive than they already are. It's easy to make a pretty person old/ugly/fat with prosthetics and makeup. It's impossible to do the reverse.
Women are much prettier than men, so they become extra attractive men, at least facially. Men become uglier women. It's a stupid decision for both.
If I'm a man, I already have the male template that I don't pay for. It'd make more sense to expand on that rather than reverse it and not succeed.
If trans, you're paying loads of money to eliminate 99% of people from ever dating you and having sex with you. They'd have to go for exclusive LGBTQ dating circles.

Agreed.
This trend toward transitioning anyone and everyone who asks for it is going to be regretted.
Lots of young kids who do this are otherwise lost and being trans gives them a needed sense of identity. They feel accepted and special. Once this phase passes, they will regret ruining their bodies.
I suspect the popularity of being trans is symptomatic of the larger problem of normalized loneliness, normalizing unhealthy living (drugs and bad food).

I went to one of those "cliff edges" with my ex one day years ago and we wanted to get a selfie as close as we could.
But I didn't trust her.
One of us could have pushed the other off so easily, and no one would have been around to see it. I told her to take it, and stay at a distance, then I ran my ass back, averting away from her vicinity, into a safe area. You just never know.

I did my own recently near the edge of a bluff while keeping a safe distance.
I don't get it why getting closer to the edge somehow will make it more interesting or dramatic when 5-10 ft away may look the same.
