In a new interview with Montreal Now’s Aaron Rand, Kiefer Sutherland offered up one helluva 24 scoop: Not only does the actor want to close out his character’s story, but something has been written and apparently, it’s really good.
“[Showrunner and executive producer] Howard Gordon has come up with an idea that I like,” Sutherland told the radio program. “Before, the material had not been written, so I would have to say, ‘I’m not the one that’s in the way.’ [But] something has been written. I think it’s really good. I think it’s really strong.”
“24 was originally with Fox,” the actor continued. “Now it’s owned by Disney because of what Fox has sold off, and so it has to go through different channels before it’s either approved or disapproved. Like everybody else, it’s something I would really like to do. I would like to close that story. It was left kind of wide open. So, fingers crossed. There’s a chance. We’ve taken some considerable steps forward.”
We last saw Bauer in the finale of 2014’s 24: Live Another Day, which had the character taken into Russian custody and ushered into a Moscow-bound helicopter. After years spent in hiding hardened him further and again isolated him from his daughter Kim, he accepted his fate with a heroic resignation. -

Given the trend of rebooting classic films/TV I can’t see why Disney
wouldn’t
go ahead with this.
Only problem is Woke. The series wrapped up just before Woke infected all entertainment, therefore the series was unpredictable and exciting. Even though we’re passed Peak Woke this is Disney, a still highly Woke organisation that may well insist on script changes to make straight white males weak/evil and women and browns incorruptible angels. Bauer himself could be humiliated, made the villain or even killed off.
I’m cautiously optimistic about this alleged news… -

It comes as no surprise that you hate Elisha Cuthbert and would ‘rather see a dude return because you’re a homo’. I don’t think the writers of 24 are going to cater to your homo-lust. -

Yes, fun standalone season with Tony redeeming himself.
All of the shows should be watched though, and I’m looking forward to it returning once again in some capacity.
Really wish people would stop trolling and asking Elisha to return as Kim Bauer is one of the worst characters of all time. -

I have not watched any of it, I have no idea why I said what I said 4 months ago…I suspect it was some sort of joke, or maybe part one of a joke that was dependend on a specific reply for part 2? I dunno. I am sorry I mislead you I guess.

The same people who watch other legit good action mystery dramas. If we can see all the ageing badasses on SVU, Star Trek, John Wick, Taken & Equalizer take out the trash, then there’s hope in this world.
Plus, you’re forgetting the part that so many became attached to these various characters and this beautifully rendered world. If people are still talking about it, then they still deserve to see more.
If this was one of those forgettable superhero shows, no one would be batting an eye, even though those break all the rules of screenwriting and never end until they flop at the box office (when they should just stop making them because they’re just not good movies).
