I liked Hot & Saucy Pizza Girls, silly as it is, and Fulfillment. Tapestry
of Passion was pretty good. Really didn't care for Up N Coming.

"Private Pleasure of John Holmes1354" He looked as though he really didn't want to do that type of movie, but still it's the first movie by a porn actor who always did "straight" sex until then. It's surreal.

From a female perspective, one of my current favourite John Holmes scenes is one entitled, "Fruit Salad" with Maria Weston? from the cult classic, "Fantasm". John appropriately plays 'Neptune' in a fantasy sequence and this is definitely (in my opinion) one of the most erotic scenes in his entire collection of films. For those of you who enjoyed the "kitchen" scene in the movie "Nine and a Half Weeks" with Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger, this is superior, even though for the most part it is soft core. The underwater sex that follows the "fruit foreplay" is beautifully shot. Cool and steamy all at the same time. "Fantasm" is a worthwhile rental since each segment features a different female fantasy.

I like most of the Johnny Wadd films which Holmes appeared in. My personal favorites are:
Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here (1975)
            Liquid Lips (1976)
            The Jade Pussycat (1977)
            China Cat (1978)
Blond Fire (1978) (the best of them)
Non-Wadd films which I also like are:
            Eruption (1977)
Hard Soap, Hard Soap (1977) (currently lost)
            Sweet Captive (1979) (currently lost)
            Prisoner of Paradise (1980)

It can be very annoying when companies just discontinue films or let them sit in a warehouse somewhere. I'd like copies of Hard Soap and Sweet Captive, among other films

A company called "Something Weird Video" out of Seattle, carries (I am guessing) some of the more obscure Holmesb68 films, although they are only available on VHS. Their online catalogue shows a few tapes as double features for $15.00 each. "The Swing Thing"/"Three Came Running" and "Beyond Fulfillment"/"Hard Soap" are included. We haven't seen any of them (yet) but hope to.

I am familiar with this company, but I'm not sure about the quality of the films. That they offer two films on one VHS tape is not encouraging. I'll likely hold out on those because VHS is going to be a thing of the past soon anyways. But there are a handful of Holmes' films I would grab on VHS, just based on how much I've been wanting to see them.

I agree. The tape quality might be sketchy and I much prefer DVD. But, if there isn't a possibility of some of these rar(er) films being re-released on DVD in the near future, I might bite the bullet and consider buying a couple of "two feature for one" VHS tapes. I wonder what determines a DVD release?

I saw Hot And Saucy Pizza Girls back in the early 80's on the big screen. The critics didn't care much for it. But every one in the theatre was laughing all the way through it. First time I saw an adult film in a theatre where the audience was enjoying it so2000 much.

It's hard to pin point just one film of John Holmes as my favorite. I liked all the Johnny Wadd films. Prisoner of Paradise, California Gigolo, Little Orphan Dusty,Eruption. I didn't care much for Coming Holmes.

LOL, there wasn't a whole lot to Coming Holmes. Typical minimal 80's video fare. Where did you see Pizza Girls, what city?

I saw Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls in my home town of Springfield Illinois. The Cinema was turned into a strip club about 20 years ago. We had another Adult Theatre downtown called The Cinema Art, which is now a parking lot. I guess with the dawn of the VCR, a lot of adult cinema's went out of bussiness. I personally like the classic films from the 70's and early 80's. The newer ones shot on video are pretty poor in comparison. Plus we had real stars back then that will be remembered for decades afterwards. Such as John C. Holmes, Marlyn Chambers, Harry Reems, Georgia Spelvin, Kay Parker, John Leslie among others. I think John Leslie was an exceptional actor who could have probably had a career in mainstream films. Richard Paceco was another good actor.Check out John Leslie and Richard Paceco in NOTHING TO HIDE. It is Anthony Spinelli's 1981 follow up to TALK DIRTY TO ME, another great film. John Holmes wasn't really that great of an actor, but he and his films will always be legendary. John Holmes and Marlyn Chambers are the King and Queen of adult films. Sorry I'm starting to ramble. Have a great day.

I agree with all of the titles you've listed here and would add "Superstar" to it, along with "Extreme Close Up", "Pizza Girls", "Casanova 11" & "I Love L.A. Part One". There are many scenes I really enjoy, even in films where Holmes is not the lead actor. I picked up an old movie on DVD quite recently, which is a feature, both entertaining and silly. It's called, "My Tongue is Quick". According to IMDB it was made in the early 70's. Holmes plays a married man by the name of Nick Butane, who pimps on the side and conducts business from a houseboat.

Anyone purchasing a copy of "LITTLE ORPHAN DUSTY" Beware of cuts. There is a graphic rape scene at the beginning of the film which is usually Trimed or cut out all together. I managed to find an uncut VHS copy. The film co stars John Holmes and Rhonda Jo Petty. Rhonda Jo was one of the foxiest ladies in adult films back then. She was often called Farrah Fawcett's look alike.

We have a DVD copy of this film and the rape scene is intact. It might be cut but it's there. This is a very decent feature with a feasible plot. Rhonda Jo Petty was one of the guest speakers at the John Holmes' 60th birthday tribute in L.A. in 2004. I've seen a video-tape of the event and she still looks great.

Fulfillment was good and so was Taxi Girls as well, if anyone gets a chance check out some of his british loops like Eye Drop Cum Drops and Star Holes: The Nipples Strike Back (weird nipple fetish)
