Beast Wars is one of my all time favorite shows and seeing their whole adventure, especially what they go through from their triumphs to sacrifices and loss. In the end it ends in a quite satisfying conclusion. Then comes BM and they finally get home only to find it ruled my Megatronall because they apparently didn't restrain him as they should have.
They lose all the advantages they gained and fought and sacrificed for from the very start. The absolute worst case scenario. Even at the end Optimus still dies, this time for good. When I watch BW now, it's still great to watch but knowing what happens afterwards it kind of makes it all kind of sad in retrospect.

I'm one of the few people not to hate BM, but I see what you mean, and I tend to disregard BM in my head when thinking about BW.

I don't feel sad. The show is so good, even knowing what comes after doesn't really change the emotion of the scene for me. Only in retrospect do I realize what's to come.
So many stories, so little time.
