I appreciate them both and I feel they have both gotten better as they have gotten older. However, I would give Al Pacino the edge. In particular I thought he was fantastic in Donnie Brasco and Phil Spector.

I became a real fan after watching The Devil's Advocate.
What I enjoy about Pacino is that he doesn't allow himself to become a caricature of his image tge way DeNiro does. DeNiro has certain mannerisms that do not allow me to fully believe he is that character. It is alway Bobby DeNiro there except for like his early career with Raging Bull, The Godfather and Cape Fear.

This is a good point, similar to Jack Nicholson or Sean Connery where it can be hard to separate the character from the actor (especially Sean Connery where he doesn't even try to change his accent). -

Scent Of A Woman was way better than The Devil's Advocate.
Donnie Brasco and Phil Spector were better than both Scent Of A Woman and The Devil's Advocate.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but these are facts. -

I'm all about dem women
Well we'll need to get Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren out of the way, I think they both set an awfully high bar Benny. Then we have Viola Davis, Jessica Lange, Kate Winslet, Isabelle Huppert, Frances McDormand, Cate Blanchett, Susan Sarandon and my personal favourite Nicole Kidman
Now other women actresses who certainly deserve more respect for their offerings to the craft (Which I hope to see them get) include Samantha Morton, Sigourney Weaver, Scarlett Johansson, Emily Watson, Juno Temple, Janet McTeer, Diane Lane, Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy (Forever joined to me now), Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss (Also forever bonded) as well as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon (Same again!).
Diane Keaton would have been in the top too, but she's sadly a departed soul now Benny
There are tonnes more, and that's before I get into looks and being attracted. This is solely on the acting they've done in the roles that they've had and I've seen. I'm missing out so many that it's unbelievable but I'll have to draw the line somewhere
So there you are, oh, and I reckon De Niro and Hoffman can make pretty good women too
