I'm always struck by the resemblance to his father. And yes, he's taken after his dad in the talent department too.
      I was a bit bummed
they killed him off in Slow Horses.

        I've not seen Sandman Loki
Something about its author disturbs me a little. The same way P Diddy does

I thought it was pretty cool. Loved the graphic novels.
Since there's no guilty verdict on Gaiman yet, I assume you feel the same way about presidents with dodgy deputations too then?

I feel the same way about everyone Loki
Gaiman can write, granted it is the watered down and more accessible versions of better writers, there's not doubting why he's so popular.
I also have no problems with his fetishes, lived fantasies or arrangements with those partaking in them
I do take issue with him telling others how to live their lives.
            Particularly since his isn't run-of-the-mill
If a smut writer for jazz mags wants to feel bigger and better than other people, he should keep that to himself or face the scorn he evoked in others through his bigotry.
Biden, Trump and every other man (Or woman) who considers themselves above it all too

Oh that's good to know, as you appear quite fond of Trump, so I was wondering if there were separate rules for separate people.
              No worries the then!

I can appear however I wish Loki, what people make of that appearance is all on them
I do find it amusing however that people will pick on someone for obvious things, but not on someone else for them (Or, as in many cases, worse things)
Then there are the allegiances, those are perplexing
But, as you say, no worries then

Show me where I said you couldn't. It's just rather funny to see you defend one and not even go near the material of the other.
And if you're implying me, uh…I pretty much tell everone that. Or how do your think some "friendships" go down the toilet here? 🤣 Usually I don't comment at all, but you brought up allegations in this thread, so I was just wondering why he upsets you so much more than another accursed of worse ,with younger. That's all.
                  I no longer wonder.
And I don't have allegiances here. I just have a couple of friends. And one I consider a really good one.

With Gaiman it's that I knew there was something amiss. I knew it well before the allegations came to light Loki.
And there would have been sympathy for the man from me, truly
But once you recognise the skullcrackers it's very hard for them to escape notice.
Trump's one, and people are right to point out that he is
It's the not pointing out that there are so many in that field that makes one wonder whether or not people who you respected are either daft or better at hiding malice than those in politics are
Friendship is a fickle thing, I'd rather lose a friend who saw me standing by my guns than accommodate someone is purposefully naive and prone to attention.
It would seem that things like social media and what is being told on the 'news' have created a drift with people feeling the need to be on one side or the other. That's a simple divide and conquer tactic. Those empowering such decoys are where we need to look, it's only a hop, skip and a jump away from throwing those antivaxers/Jews on that magical "Go away" train

                      Loki — 3 months ago(December 06, 2025 03:05 PM)

I suppose living on the same island as the man, one would get more news and more of a feel if an artist or politician is a dodgy **** or not. I know for sure I have a wife beater in my record collection (he's long dead now so I can't yell at him for having beaten his wives) so all I can be is hella disappointed he was one (amd I am). A genius, but not a great guy. I'm well aware a lot of artists and musicians have not exactly been saints. As long as they aren't pedos, nazis or animal abusers. Luckily nazis stick to godawful oi punk so there's not even a slight risk of me accidentally supporting a nazi. 🤣🤣🤣
I don't use much social media, so I don't suffer from social media ruining any of my friendships. It's what comes out their mouths or fingertips that do that.
I can put up with a lot but I have a couple of lines that can't be crossed. Then it's a nope for me. I'll withdraw myself from that person. Usually without drama, unless we're actually fighting about something. But I usually try not speaking about politics or religion with people because that's an almost sure fire way to fall out with someone.
Friendships aren't fickle, imo. Acquaintanceships are. Because you already know the heart and minds of your real friends so there are no surprise nazis. There may be plenty suprise nazis in acquaintanceships (for example). People just use the term "friendship" for what's really an acquaintanceship.

I've found that the best friendships are the ones who have gone through hell and back together and are still as strong as they were beforehand.
All of my friends know that I'll query them all the way on the crucible, regardless of the subject matter.
That's why I have so few, but the ones I have are indestructible
So yes, onto the Neil Gaiman and Trump thing.
One apparently gets a free pass and the other most certainly doesn't.
And that all comes down to allegiances.
                        So fickle

Agreed about true friendships, as it's the same for me. I think it's true for most.
Oh, I see what you mean. When you give bigger leeway to people you like than people you don't. Allegiance to me means more like a fealty thing.

Fealty is a fine thing to many Loki
But I don't pledge an oath to soil, flag, god or celebrity
And many of those who do generally don't follow their own rules, proving their fealty is fickle
That's why something as dark and taboo as kiddie fiddling was a 'cool' and 'edgy' take on trolling around here until it seemed like a valid attack on Trump via Epstein. Now that it's been shown that Epstein was a big friend of the Democrats any mention of such things is seen as crass by now pious purist progressives.
I've no issue with people having opinions, but they need to stick to them or openly admit that they've changed them
Gaiman is one who pushed a narrative (A male feminist one) and that flagged my attention. Not every man is a rapist but ever male feminist is
Just like how not every transsexual person is a mental case, but the ones that insist upon you knowing and using their 'pronouns' are.
Bullying is a form of rape and it comes in many shapes and forms.
Blasting female reproductive issues as a core component to a political campaign is insensitive and abusive to many, many people. Telling anyone that tries to point that out that they are 'triggering' is a further backhanded metaphorical slap.
Those in the stalls cheering it on and waiting for the next pantomime twist in the tale, both here and on social media in general, are no different to the crowd egging on the abuse of Jodie Foster's character in
                            The Accused (1988)
Holding a mirror up to the crowd, or better yet - taking a picture and archiving it online, really reigns in the hysteria and brings sombre, helpful discussion rather than a pitchfork mob acting without rationale.
                            That's where my fidelity lies

Agree to much of this but not that every male feminist is a rapist. Never going to believe that.

I'm sure Swedish men are more passable in the vibe of just being decent egalitarian guys Loki
But the ones who call themselves "Male feminists" are the same the world over (And I've been all over it
                                          ).
You're right that Sweden doesn't use terms like male feminists. They don't use a word for what they are, which for the most part is treating women as they would wish to be treated themselves. More of a "try not to be an arsehole wherever possible type" mentality.🤣 Ok, I'm way oversimplifying it but you get the general drift.
