you promise the kid a fancy job owning a magical chocolate factory
At that point in the movie ("I SAID GOOD DAY!"), Charlie didn't know anything about Wonka's plans to give him the factory; he just thought he was losing out on a lifetime supply of chocolate. He didn't find out he could have the factory until after he had "passed the test." -

And yes, now that you mention it I do recall Charlie and his grandfather being rather shocked that they now own the factory, probably not half as shocked as they were when they were all of a sudden bungled into an elevator that then took off like a spaceship lol wtf what if one of them had an extream phobia of heights? a little heads up wonka, jesus.

Yeah, you say that now but when you blow up like a blueberry balloon or shrink down to a tiny size, let's see if you will still think it is fun!

Augustus? death by asphyxiation
Violet? Exploded to death, she took out her father and several Oompa Loompas at the same time to, wiped them the **** out.

I brought UP some thoughts already on the elevator ABOVE.
It is curious because Charlie was not like the other kids where he got curious to try something new just like everyone else.
The only difference was that he got himself out of trouble unlike all the others.
