You're both savages who must eat meat blue.
From the time you put the steak (this is not paper thin sandwich steak, barbarians)on the stove for the sear until plating time, it's ten minutes for medium rare.

It should be charred on the outside and basically uncooked on the inside.

                            Of course.
But I let other people cook it.
Now if the thread title said "cook out" instead of "out cook", I might have more to offer.

                                      Sorry Gabste.
Let me start by saying it is illegal in Antarctica and America, so I have never tried it, but here's what I know. It doesn't have to be cooked through like chicken, and raw or rare is perfectly edible. It's supposed to be similar to beef, so I would marinade the meat in garlic, onion, olive oil, red wine, and rosemary the first time. Grill rare, and decide after trying what changes to make.
Organs are good for soup, and bones are good for stock, so don't waste any of it.
Let me know how this works for you, and if you get jail time or just fines. I sincerely hope there's no jail in Antarctica for your sake.
                                      Wait..What?

not recommended due to the high levels of mercury in their meat.
