They edited the hell out of it after the Catholic League or whoever, flipped out over it. The original cut would have been good.
Still though, late summer 2007, I was pumped as hell for this. I expected New Line to make all the books into a trilogy like LOTR. I thought it was poised to be the new LOTR or Narnia. When it ended up being a mediocre flop, I was stunned.
