    I can't believe he's dead.
    Yeah I know he was 89 but he was always so fit, even for a man 25 years younger than himself. I believe he was in The Royal just as little ago as last year.
    Such a shock. And I have always been a fan. 😞

      According to his wife, he fell over the Christmas holidays and declined after that. He was a terrific actor and I'm so sorry more people didn't get to meet him.

            there is one more episode of the royal left with him making his final appearance. Its episode 4 of season 8, it has been shown in other countries and its yet to come to the UK

              Just watched Ian in From Beyond The Grave. Sadly both he, Margaret Leighton and Nyree Dawn Porter are no longer with us.
              Add to that Peter Cushing, Diana Dors, Ian Bannen, and Donald Pleasence. 😞

                He was afflicted with the lifelong condition of being both extremely irritating and painfully unfunny.
                Thankfully, our suffering is finally over.
