Out of touch they are? By not feeling in danger when a massive spaceship crashes into their building?
I’m all for societal metaphors but they still have to make sense to the world in which they exist. Having them dressed as stereotypical aristocracy is just way too on the nose and extremely lazy writing.

yes
they've never been in danger their entire lives. they wouldn't even know how to process something like that, much less what to do. they would rather fight you than change. they basically live in the matrix. believe it or not, there are actually people like that. perhaps they are even here, right now -

It’s a reach and you know it. A poorly constructed metaphor for the sake of having a metaphor
It’s **** writing
As is the scene when he finds the baseball. He has just been fighting with a violent mass-murdering monster and then all of a sudden he is taking a tranquil stroll down memory lane?
Again… **** writing

back to your op topic
using these bit characters as proof of lazy writing is missing the point. they aren't meant to be characters, they are objects used to world build.
do you really want to know the life history of every red shirt? these people are tropes and it's an hour show. they need to keep things moving.
the reggie jackson ball was supposed to make people connect with the characters emotionally. but you need to have emotions that aren't stunted or perhaps have a passing interest in baseball, so that manipulation won't work on everyone.
i suggest you do some research and then do a bit of writing yourself instead of regurgitating content grifter talking points from your armchair.
contribute something positive to the world instead of always bitching about it. it will be difficult, but the satisfaction of adding something to the universe may help you start filling that void. -

Violence in the Aliens franchise has always been meaningful (in the good films anyways). The aliens are supposed to be traumatising to us.
The baseball scene is just ****ing daft and out of place in such a production. He has just survived an attack from an alien being and seen people torn apart. Hardly the time or place for a calming reflective scene is it? It's crap writing and direction - just admit this to yourself.
do you really want to know the life history of every red shirt?
What a boring strawman. I feel like you aren't even trying anymore. Just admit that you hate to agree with TCD because you hate his viewer demographic. This is painfully obvious to everyone reading along.
