Look, Alfred E Bestall was one of the finest comics creators of our time! Much better than your Stan Lee’s or Bobby Kane’s and WE are very lucky indeed to have his finest creation willing to be a guest and speak at our convention!!

So it’s a proper comics event then and not some nonsense where people are dressed up and billing and cooing over pop culture tat? The man dressed as Spider-Man doing himself a mischief sort of convinced me that it was the latter…unless he was just being avant garde.

The event was cancelled two weeks ago because some twat came out of a nightclub and tried to climb up a scaffolding to an ex-girlfriend of mine's house.

I saw the same lecture 20 years ago and so am comfortable enough missing out. But there's a lot of great up-and-coming artists and writers there who just need some reassurance. That part makes me feel bad. But, **** it! It's like your theatre experience; lots of hot air and pretence looking to prosper on the sweat and tears of others

AAAAHHHHH OK, it would appear that I misunderstood. I assumed that it was somebody actually dressed up as Spider-Man, COSPLAYING him. I assumed that he was actually dressed up as Spider-Man and he SCALED a wall and then when he was atop it, shouted down to a swarm of Harley Quinn’s and Deadpools down below ‘TALLY HO COMIC FANS!’ and then tried to swing over to the next building and shouted ‘Look out for your friendly neighbourhood AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH OOOOFFFF!!!’ as he fell to ground and did himself a mischief.

Well I do hope that you have a good time at the event when it IS on and that it doesn’t attract the wrong crowd such as hooligans fighting over Marvel and DC over which is the better. They would need to be told that it is not that sort of comics event.

Well there’s a new Superman film coming out with Superdog and James GUNN, so DC is winning!
I refuse to get my hopes up though. I thought that RTD was going to save Doctor Who and look how that one turned out.

I thought that people enjoyed that last Batman film and that it did really well? Have they released a load of other Batman related rubbish that most people don’t know about?

I don't know about other people Bobby but my takeaway from the last Batman movie was that it lacked an awful lot of substance.
Fun flick (If overly long) but nothing to write home about and certainly not an addition to the legacy
