but oh my God, how LAME is it.
Lame as in, no actor ever seems to care about this film.
Lame as in, the Mars surface SO doesn't look like Colorado.
Lame as in, even the computer voice in the ship makes you feel sleepy.
Lame as in, the Tim Robbins death drama that goes on forever.
Lame as in, breathable fluids is SUCH AN INNOVATIVE IDEA (that we've seen in half a dozen scifi films)
Lame as in, wind blowing in the US flag raised (on Mars) when the fiery patriotic tune kicks in.
Lame as in, alligators (reptiles) turn into mammoths (mammal) to summerize evolution.
I mean, the scenario is great, don't get me wrong.
But man, the production is a joke.

This was my first time watching it. The drama was okay considering that Don Cheadle was left by himself there for a year. I would say that it was leap's and bounds better than the Apollo 13 movie. The intentional spin of "We all come from outer space aliens" has been a vomiting conspiracy theory for a long time. The only thing that held together was the cast, well chosen. Hard to believe that this movie came out 25 years ago.
