Carpenter can be very hit or miss

Dark Star
- Simple, but fun. A good time (6/10).
Assault on Precinct 13 - Somewhat forgettable, but pretty tense at times, enjoyable but disposable (5/10).
Halloween - Just a slasher movie, who cares if it was one of the first or "defined the genre" (4/10).
The Fog - Cool practical effects and a sense of being trapped (later done better in The Thing), but otherwise almost put me to sleep (5/10).
Escape from New York - Is clearly a cheesy B-movie action movie that's not meant to be taken seriously, but doesn't fully commit to the cheesiness. Pretty boring. This is why I prefer Escape from LA, because it fully commits to the craziness (4/10).
The Thing - Probably the best horror movie ever made, and the best use of practical effects I can think of outside of the Predator and Alien movies (9/10).
Prince of Darkness - I don't care about the characters, or their predicament. Another forgettable one (5/10).
They Live - John Carpenter perfects the cheesy 80s B-movie, with some fun political commentary, too. And when you can say that political commentary was "fun", they must be doing something very right. The final scene was a bizarre way to end the movie, but is just as hilarious as Dark Star's ending (8/10).
In the Mouth of Madness - A pretty good attempt at creating an original take on a Lovecraft style story, while also paying homage to writers like Lovecraft and Stephen King. One of his better movies, but doesn't really give me a thirst for repeat viewings (6/10).
Escape from LA - I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoy it way more than Escape from New York. As I mentioned earlier, it fully commits to the B-movie cheesiness that the first film only dipped its toes into. I also thought the final showdown in Star Wars: The Last Jedi was pretty clever until I realised they stole it from this film. Also, Steve Buscemi is ALWAYS a win. It's still just a B-movie, though (6/10).
If I didn't mention a film here it's because I haven't seen it yet.
- Simple, but fun. A good time (6/10).

Do you mean prostitution/casual sex/etc?
I've considered it, but some of the girls that are looking for casual sex still want to be treated as though they're on a date (get taken to a restaurant, etc. I don't see the point in paying for someone's food/entertainment if I can just stay home and jack off).
I was talking to a girl for a while, and I almost wanted to go in the direction of meeting up and doing casual **** (she sounded interested), but it seems after a while she found other options.
Works for me, because I think I'm at my happiest alone. Besides, men have sex toys too. -

not me tho. if i wanted casual sex from u and only ur dick, i would not go to a ****ing resto with u and have awkward "smalltalk" and all that. i would want u to bang me hard and all night long, pronto! and then leave right after it.
everything that goes beyond that i'd reserve for someone i'd actually care about.
keep looking, i'm sure there are girls like me out there bc it would be really odd if not.
and no, i'm not talking about prostitutes either. normal girls who'd do u for free bc they look for the same thing.
suck it. -

Yeah, they're out there. But those kind of girls give me bad vibes. I start to wonder why they're so interested in just ****ing me, and it's likely either because they're a major nympho, or they're just looking for someone to cheat on their boyfriend/husband with. Both of which I probably wouldn't care about if I didn't know for sure that they were the case, but after I've gotten off, my mind would probably immediately drift to it.
It's not so much that I'd be pissed off at them, but just that I'd be ashamed of myself for contributing to it.
I'll stop before I start sounding preachy haha. -

no bc guess what, men and women do want the same things in life

pls tell me u are trolling.
u are either trolling right now or u have actually never talked to a woman before in ur entire life neither in real life nor online bc this is the dumbest bullshit i've ever read incels and shutins saying about women ever, hands down. are u like, 8 years old? what da ****
i just praised u for the supposed progress u made on working ón urself, but wow this throws u back light years right into the era of dinosaurs… well good luck getting ever out of that now.
pls tell me u are trolling.
suck it. -

It's an exaggeration, but I deal with quite a bit of general paranoia, and I think that makes me trust people very little. I don't think I'll ever be able to fix that, and I've tried.
Of course, women's motivations to have sex could just be in line with anyone who just feels like getting off. That makes sense, and is most likely the case for a lot of people, both men and women.
I mentioned that after I've gotten what I wanted, my mind would just immediately drift to "why would they want to **** me with no strings attached?" and that's where the paranoia slips in.
I told you my bitterness has been replaced mostly with indifference. And I think that's probably not only the healthiest thing for me, but also anyone that might consider having sex with me too. But that indifference is also why I don't really want to **** anyone.
