Trump is right, she is overrated.

I have always thought so also. She smirks her way through everything. It's always about her acting and never about the character. I honestly don't understand how she is considered the greatest living actressI guess for lack of anything better. Even with Bette Davis' exaggerated mannerisms and speech, you still believed the character or saw the character rather than Davis. With Streep it's always just watching Streep "act".

Yep, exactly. I have no idea why this woman gets her butt kissed as much as she does because I can sit here for the next hour and name women who absolutely blow her out of the water when it comes to acting, like Cate Blanchett, like you said Bette Davis, Ellen Burstyn who I thought was incredible in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" which is one of my all time favorite movies, or Jodi Foster who has been an amazing actress since she was a little kid, I just can go on and on and on and on, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange who is absolutely amazing in "American horror story", Julie Christie who Al Pacino called the greatest actress he ever worked with. All these great actresses yet this egotistical b*tch Streep constantly gets her butt kissed as "The greatest actress"The greatest actress for WHAT exactly? That she impersonated Margaret Thatcher, Anna Wintour and Julia Childs? That she impersonates foreign accents? What the F classic movies has she ever been in? The Deer hunter where she cries half the time, which by the way Katharine Hepburn saw and hated Meryl Streep in that movie which you can read here

She is booooorrrrriiinnngggg. Every role is Meryl Streep playing Meryl Streep (sometimes Streep with an Australian accent….). I don’t know why people get all ohh ahhh about her. I’ve seen several films and none have impressed me. Sophie’s Choice had the possibility of being a moving tale, but Streep ruined it. I really didn’t feel any drama, emotion, personality from her. You could e replaced her with Borat and at least laughed. Kramer was a snooze fest to begin with. Prada was a predictable film in which she played Streep with a wig and sunglasses. Mamma Mia was…. Welll, I can’t print that here. As ne mentioned, Bette Davis took roles and became characters. You knew it was her, but she transformed herself marvelously. The slattern witch in Human Bondage, the delightfully wry Margo Channing, the beautiful Mrs Skeffington, the hilarious Baby Jane. So many more. SHE was a marvel.

Trump is right about a lot of things (certainly not everything) and he's 100% correct in his assessment of Streep.
I judge an actor by resume. What projects he/she takes on and the entertainment value they provide. Look over her overall resume, it's VASTLY overrated and even poor by those standards. I don't watch films for performance. I watch for story and entertainment value. She has wasted many film hours chasing statues and awards. That's why she's a pompous windbag at this stage of her life because she equates opinion awards with achievement. It re-enforces her hollywood bubble and completely puts her out of touch with reali5b4ty and with the American people.
