Or Renfield, since he basically becomes Vigo's familiar. The creepy factor makes sense, he starts out being a little too clingy with Dana, and then ends up working for the villain.
I can't say he's been bad for the movie's reputation as a lot of fans tend to quote Janosz even more than the Ghostbusters! But of course, it's not for everyone.

I think he's great! As comic relief and as a possessed villain, he's perfect for the role. So many good lines, his eccentricity is perfect. I even love the odd way he shakes hands with Venkman.
